Terms of Service
Last updated — September 10, 2026
Food safety notice. Pantryify uses AI to suggest meals and to read receipts. Suggestions can be wrong about ingredients, allergens, spoilage and nutrition. You are always responsible for checking labels, expiry dates and allergens before you cook or eat anything. Pantryify is not medical, dietary or food-safety advice.
1. Agreement
These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Pantryify covering your use of our website, application and APIs (the "Service"). By creating an account you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 (or 16 where local law requires) and able to form a binding contract.
2. Your account
- Give accurate details and keep your credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account.
- One account per person; accounts are not transferable.
- Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access — we log and review sensitive account operations.
3. AI-generated content, health and allergens
Meal plans, recipes, substitutions, nutrition estimates and receipt extraction are generated by third-party AI models. They are informational suggestions only and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for you. In particular:
- Allergen, intolerance and religious/dietary filters are best-effort and must never be your only safeguard. Always read the physical product label.
- Expiry and freshness reminders are based on what you entered; they do not assess whether food is actually safe to eat. When in doubt, throw it out.
- Nothing in the Service is medical, nutritional or clinical advice. Consult a qualified professional for allergies, pregnancy, medical diets or health conditions.
- Final responsibility for food safety rests with you.
4. WhatsApp and SMS messaging
- Messaging is opt-in. By providing your phone number and enabling reminders you consent to receive meal reminders, expiry alerts and transactional account messages on WhatsApp and/or SMS.
- Reply STOP at any time to end messages, or turn reminders off in Notification settings. Reply START to resume.
- Message frequency varies with your settings. Your mobile carrier's data or message rates may apply.
- You confirm you own or are authorised to use the number you register. Registering someone else's number is a breach of these Terms.
- Delivery depends on Meta/Twilio and your carrier; we cannot guarantee timing or delivery of any individual message.
5. Subscriptions, trials and billing
- Paid plans and any free trial are described at the point of purchase. Trials convert to a paid plan at the end of the trial unless cancelled first.
- Payments are processed by Paystack (Nigeria) or Paddle, our Merchant of Record for other regions. Prices may be shown in your local currency; conversion rates are indicative.
- Subscriptions renew automatically for successive periods until cancelled. Cancel any time from Subscription settings; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy. Statutory withdrawal or refund rights (for example EU/UK consumer rights) are unaffected.
- Plan quotas (AI generations, scans, notifications) are enforced server-side. Attempting to bypass quota or entitlement checks may result in immediate suspension without refund.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before the change applies to your next renewal.
6. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Probe, scan or test the security of the Service, or attempt to bypass authentication, row-level security, rate limits or the WAF.
- Submit injection, cross-site-scripting, traversal or malformed payloads, or attempt to overload the Service (including Layer 7 flooding).
- Use the Service to send unsolicited messages to any phone number, including numbers you do not control.
- Reverse engineer the Service, or use it to build a competing product from our data or model outputs.
- Upload unlawful content, or content that infringes anyone's rights.
- Share, resell or provide multi-user access to a single-user subscription.
7. Automated access, scraping and rate limits
Automated harvesting of the Service — scraping, crawling, bulk export, headless-browser extraction or systematic API querying — is prohibited without our prior written permission. We operate technical controls including request signature filtering, per-account quotas and adaptive per-network rate limiting; circumventing or attempting to circumvent them is a material breach. We may block, throttle or terminate traffic that trips these controls, and may recover the third-party API costs caused by abusive use.
8. Your content and our content
You keep ownership of the pantry data, recipes and images you submit. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process and transmit that content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, including sending relevant portions to the AI and lookup providers named in our Privacy Policy. The Pantryify name, interface, code and compiled recipe/ingredient datasets remain ours. AI outputs are provided to you for personal, non-commercial use.
9. Third-party services
The Service depends on Supabase, Google Gemini, Groq, Open Food Facts, TheMealDB, Twilio/Meta, Resend, Paystack, Paddle, Vercel and Cloudflare. Their availability, accuracy and terms are outside our control, and outages or data errors on their side may affect the Service.
10. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, apply emergency security measures (including challenge pages or temporary feature suspension during an attack), or modify or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces a paid feature, we will give notice and, where appropriate, a pro-rata refund.
11. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI output, or non-infringement. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pantryify will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of profit, data or goodwill, or for any loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated meal, nutrition or allergen information. Our total aggregate liability for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period, or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Pantryify against claims and costs arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you submit.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate access immediately for material breach, suspected fraud, abuse of the Service or its rate limits, chargebacks, or where required by law. On termination your licence ends; data deletion follows the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes take effect no earlier than 14 days after we post them here (or immediately where required for legal or security reasons). Continued use after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Questions or notices: use in-app Support, or the contact details published on pantryify.com.
